Description
Fellow Fine Art America Artist Morris Finkelstein shared, in the "Visions of Spring - Glances of Summer" group, a photograph he took of an Eastern Bluebird eating berries and found himself (and his photo) a feature of the week! In looking at the announced features I was immediately drawn to his photograph as it reminded me of my Grammy, who has collected bluebird stuff since before I was born. It has become a challenge to excite her bluebird-adoring senses with something new and something she's never seen before, and thanks to Morris Finkelstein's photograph, I was instantly inspired with a mental image of a painting I could create which I know my Grammy would have never seen before. I am deeply grateful to Morris for both giving me permission to use his photo as a reference for my painting, but more importantly for sharing his photo in the first place so that I might have my eureka moment! As you can see, I imagined the bluebird on intertwining branches of Dogwood and Apple Trees, representative of the trees my Grammy planted in her backyard for her late Mother and Father. In the final version (not shared publicly) I also included a tiny bluebird (sizable with the flowers and apples) for each one of my Grammy's 3 kids, and through them, her 8 grandchildren. With Love and Gratitude I share this version so that it may continue the inspiration chain. |||| PLEASE VISIT the photo that inspired this painting: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/eastern-bluebird-eating-berries-morris-finkelstein.html

Stunning painting of an Eastern Bluebird on an apple tree with many blossoms and apples, with great colors and perspective, and a balance of realism and symbolism. I am honored that my photograph was an inspiration for this magnificent and special painting. I wish your Grandmother a Happy Birthday, and many more, with her kids and grandkids! Thank you, Mandy!
