This idea, using hand gestures around a globe to make a point, first came to me in 2011 during The Peoples Convention of Florida where I was painting live for entertainment. Since then, the idea has expanded and I give you "Shaka Aloha Earth" which is all about harmony. The hand gesture here is "Shaka" also known as 'hang loose" but it's deeper meaning lays in the harmony of life in the waves. No one's life is perfect, some have just learned to surf their waves with enjoyment rather than begrudgingly wading and drowning through the tides and weather. Similarly "Aloha" is known for being "Hello" AND "Goodbye" but it's deeper meaning also lies within harmony. The Aloha Spirit is beyond words, but in the simple "hello and goodbye" it demonstrates the unity of life, of beginnings and endings, of greetings and fair wells, of minds and bodies, of spirits and the material world, of humanity and the earth. The Earth never stops spinning, but we count her turns as days and we measure our lives...
